Deployment Of Police Forces Expected In Wau This Week The Governor of Wau State has said that an additional police force is expected to be deployed in Wau this week to guard the security of the region following the aftermath of the June clashes which left thousands displaced. 08 December 2016
By James Deng Dimo WAU, 10 December 2016 [Gurtong]-We are today at Mashana Biir area at the police station, we would like to tell our people in Wau town that our protection police forces are likely to arrive in Wau and that is why we are here today to survey the site for them,” said Mel. “This will be the station for our police, let’s hope that from tomorrow, the State will witness the presence of our operation police who will be patrolling the town,” he said. Earlier in August this year, Governor, Andrea Mayar said he reached an agreement with the South Sudan Police Service in Juba on the deployment of poice personnel in Wau town. Acho said the move to deploy police from Ater-moj to Wau is part of maintaining security within Wau.
