Kiir appoints new head of South Sudan police JUBA (9 Mar.) South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday night issued a decree removing the nation’s inspector general of police Gen. Makur Marol Aduot and appointing Gen. Saeed Chawul Lom as the new head of police service. Chawul, who was appointed by a presidential decree broadcast on the state-owned media, had served as commissioner of police in the newly created Jubek State.
