Official says situation 'rapidly deteriorating' in Koma County KOMA (12 Mar.) Fighting in several villages in Koma County in Upper Nile has led to a "rapidly deteriorating" humanitarian situation, officials said on Friday, leaving a large number of people with limited access to basics services. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Hassan Bali, Koma County Commissioner, claimed that the opposition forces burned down the county headquarters and civilians’ homes during the recent attack on the area.“The opposition forces have burned downed the county headquarters and houses of civilians, but the SPLA managed to repulse. Now citizens are just staying without anything,” he said. Bali pointed out that all roads leading to the area are closed, while calling upon humanitarian agencies to help the needy people as soon as possible.Bali urged the warring parties to stop the ongoing conflict for the sake of peace and stability in the area. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
