Fresh clashes between government and opposition in Yuai

Government and opposition forces clashed Sunday in Yuai area in Bieh state
on Sunday, with either force claiming to have inflicted much harm on the
other.

Opposition forces said they attacked government forces killing more than 90
soldiers while destroying three military vehicles.He said yesterday. “Our
forces clashed with government forces in Yuai at around 5 am to 8:30 am
this morning. Our forces managed to kill 93 from the government including 2
brigadier generals, we also managed to destroy one tank and two others
military vehicles loaded with heavy machines guns,” SPLA-IO military
spokesperson William Gatjiath told Radio Tamazuj.“We lost five from our
forces and suffered nine injuries,” claimed Gatjiath.

However, the government army spokesperson Lul Ruai Koang confirmed the
attack but differed in the number of casualties reported by the
opposition.“This is not true. What happened yesterday is that the
opposition forces attacked our base in Yuai in Uror County of Bieh state,
and we acted in self-defense and we were able to repulse them. We managed
to kill 23. We captured 5 PKM guns and 19 AK-47,” said Koang.Koang also
claimed that they killed an opposition major general and injured more than
50 opposition forces during the attack, while denying any losses on their
side.Koang pointed out that that Yuai is still under government control.
