JUBA (28 Mar.)

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mohamat, said
the signed peace deal in South Sudan still exists but it faces difficulties
in implementation, while urging for the deployment of the regional
protection force in Juba.Moussa, who concluded his two-day visit to South
Sudan on Monday, made these remarks during a press conference at Juba
Airport.

However, the AU official said the international community is trying to help
South Sudan to implement the 2015 peace agreement. He stressed that there
is no military solution for the ongoing conflict in South Sudan.Moussa

dialogue it has to be transparent and inclusive, and also for proclaiming
ceasefire that will create necessary conditions for the deployment of the
regional protection force so that peace and stability can prevail in the
country,” he said.

For his part, Martin Elia Lomuro, South Sudan’s Cabinet Minister,
reiterated his government’s commitment to hold an inclusive national
dialogue in South Sudan. “We know that there are top 14 commanders of
regional protection force are already in the country”, he said. “We are
going to do everything possible including the clearance of the goods and
armament necessary for the regional protection force to come in,” said
Lomuro.
