Two rebel soldiers killed, three injured in Wau clashes

SPLA-IO troops allied to South Sudan's former first vice president Riek
Machar admitted that at least two soldiers were killed and two others
wounded from their side during clashes with government forces at Natabu
area west of Wau town on Friday.

Col. William Gatjiath Deng, Spokesman of the SPLA-IO, told Radio Tamazuj on
Tuesday that they repulsed attacks launched by government forces on their
position in the area.Gatjiath admitted that at least two SPLA-IO soldiers
were killed and three others wounded from their side during the clashes,
claiming they also killed 18 government soldiers at Natabu.

Earlier this week, the SPLA deputy spokesman Santo Domic said that only
four of the government forces were injured. He claimed that they killed
seven opposition forces during the clashes.

But a medical source said at least 12 people including two officers were
killed and seven others sustained injuries during the clashes.
