Hunger threatens lives of citizens in Lapon County: Official LAPON (30 Mar.) Authorities in Lapon County in South Sudan’s Imatong State say famine and starvation are threatening the lives of local residents in his county. Lapon County Commission Okal Awoon told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the rains were insufficient, causing crop failure in the area. He further said no assistance has been delivered to his county.“Citizens here are really suffering because of hunger. There were not enough rains which has affected the crops. But up to now we did not get any assistance to give them,” said Awoon.“I have informed the governor he knows about this, but he said no response has arrived yet,” he added. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
