Aweil authorities shut down brothels AWEIL (30 Mar.) Authorities of the Aweil municipality have carried out a series of raids in brothels operating in the area after an influx of foreign sex workers was reported in the town recently. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, the mayor of Aweil town, Simon Tong Deng said they decided to fight against illegal practices in the area. The official noted the police have been ordered to shut down the brothers and arrest people in connection with this business. The mayor pointed out that the sex workers in the area are foreigners.
