HIV/AIDs patients lack medicines at Uganda’s Rhino refugee camp UGANDA (7 Apr.) Dozens of South Sudanese refugees living with HIV/AIDs at Rhino camp in Uganda lack access to antiretroviral therapy, leading to deterioration of their health conditions, a local elder said. Nyani John Alex, a community elder at the camp told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that there are more than 40 South Sudanese refugees who are currently living with HIV/AIDs in the camp, but the camp lacks health facilities.“There are drugs in a treatment centre but it is really far from the camp and some people who are really sick and they don’t have money, they cannot go to the far distances. But the health organizations should come and establish a healthcare centre in our camp,” said John. John pointed out that at least two people died last year at Eden 4 Zone due to lack of treatment. He appealed to humanitarian organizations and the government of Uganda to establish a health facility in the camp so that people living with HIV/AIDs can get access to health services. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
