By Agoth Abraham AWEIL, 15 April 2017 [Gurtong] -“I don’t know really why there is no female Governor appointed in the Governorship position though they’re qualified. We need to have chances of exercising our skills in leadership,” said Achol. This concern was raised during a three-day Agricultural conference held in Aweil State and attended by representatives of neighbouring States. In response to the question, the national Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Resources, Fisheries, Cooperatives and Rural Development, Hon. Onyoti Adigo said, “Aren’t you from SPLM? Who appoints people? This question was supposed to have been asked by a non-SPM member and answered by an SPLM member like you because the appointment of government ministers and Governors are made by your chairman. So you’re supposed to ask your chairman on this concern not me who comes from a different party.” Onyoti told the minister.
