RAJA - 24 Apr 2017 Raja town ‘deserted’ after rebel attack Raja town in South Sudan’s Lol State has been deserted after civilians fled the town during the recent fighting between SPLA troops and SPLA-IO fighters.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, several local residents in Raja said the town is deserted although the security situation returned to normal following clashes between the two rival forces over the past two weeks. The residents pointed out that a large number of Raja citizens have crossed to Sudan, while some of them are still living in the bush. They pointed out that the conflict-displaced people are suffering due to lack of food, water and medicines. A local resident noted that local traders are leaving the town because citizens do not have enough money to buy goods at the market. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
