Kiir removes interim SPLM chairpersons in 12 states, appoints new lawmakers

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued republican decrees
appointing and relieving some government and party officials from their
positions.

In a presidential decree number 74/2017, Kiir appointed Elijah Liech Bany
as the new deputy governor of Latjor State.

In another decree, he appointed members to fill the vacant positions of
SPLM party in the national parliament.

The newly appointed lawmakers include Angelo Dieu Ngor,Nyayen Yat Riek,
Jaffer John Perry, Andrea Mayer Felo, Stephen Jimmy Lemi, George Lotabu,
Ichi Likayi Baliwaji, Medina Akok and Aluong Jorbam.

Kiir, who doubles as chairman of the SPLM party, relieved former state
governors as SPLM interim state chairpersons from 12 states and appointed
the incumbent governors.

Kiir’s order affected Peter Bol Koang, former governor of Bieh State,  Chol
Thon Balok, former governor of Eastern Upper Nile, Natisio Loluke Manir,
former governor of Imatong State, Patrick Raphael Zamoi, former governor of
Gbudwe State Bona Panek Biar, former governor of Twic State, Abraham Gum
Makuach, former governor of Gogrial State, Peter Lam Both, former  governor
of Latjor State, Dr. William Othon Awier, formoer governor of Fashoda
State, Mayol Kur Akuei, former governor of Ruweng State, Baba Medan Konyi ,
former governor of Boma State, Chol Deng  Alaak, former cihef administrator
of Abyei Administrative Area,  Ring Tueny Mabor, former governor of Eastern
Lakes State and  Makoi Bol Kordit, former governor of Western Lakes State.
