Wau state prepares for President Kiir’s visit Local authorities in Wau State, one of South Sudan’s newly states, said they are preparing for President Kiir’s visit in the coming new days.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Wau’s deputy governor, Anthony Charles Mgberende, said the visit of President Kiir is important because it will address the issue of internally displaced persons in the state. He revealed that the state will also present some proposals for developmental projects that can be approved by President Kiir.“The visit of the president is very important and we hope that it will allow the displaced people to come out and go back to their homes,” he said. For his part, Ateny Wek Ateny, South Sudan’s presidential spokesperson, said the President will visit Wau soon. However, he did not mention a specific date for Kiir’s visit. He claimed that some financial issues need to be tackled first.
