Wau steps up measures to prevent cholera outbreak

Wau state is stepping up measures to prevent the outbreak of cholera in the
area after reports of an outbreak in neighboring Tonj state where at least
17 people died.

Addressing the press on Thursday, Wau State Health Minister Bona Gudnisio
said that no cases have been reported in the state so far, but they have
stepped measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.He urged
all citizens in Wau including those who are sheltering inside displaced
camps to maintain cleanliness in the environment and immediately report any
suspected cases of watery diarrhea to the nearest health facility.
