Dominic Ukelo, the rebel-appointed governor of Wau State has announced a moratorium on the death penalty in areas under their control in the state. In an order extended to Radio Tamazuj, Governor Ukelo said he also stopped all types of torture and punishment as well as extra-judicial imprisonment in the area. The opposition official has directed the relevant authorities to implement the order immediately.
