Henry Kuany Aguer says the feeding of prisoners is a problem because they only provide what can keep them alive. The Director-General mentions congestion as another problem as the judiciary is not functioning to try those accused of any criminal acts. The provision of medicines is also very scarce, Director Kuany adds. Nyuol Justine Yaac, Acting Chairperson of South Sudan Human Rights Commission urges the government to address the issue of judiciary for it to be functional. The officials spoke during a roundtable workshop on legal aid services, organized by CEPO in partnership with South Sudan Human Rights Commission.
