I favor removing ffmpeg support altogether and using the command-line
for those formats.

I don't believe either ffmpeg nor libav maintain a stable API/ABI;
so it's too much burden for SoX to keep up with them (given the
number of bug reports I've seen for ffmpeg).

(No disrespect to the ffmpeg/libav devs intended, audio/video projects
 are orders of magnitude more difficult than audio-only projects,
 so maintaining a stable API is even tougher).
