Dear macOS users of SoX, the current coreaudio.c uses pthreads mutexes, which seems weird for just playing on a device. But removing that breaks playback for me: https://github.com/janstary/sox/issues/57
Can you please confirm that it also breaks playback (and possibly recording) for you? I am on macOS 14.5; please try everywhere. Our CoreAudio support is deprecated since macOS 10.6: https://github.com/janstary/sox/issues/40 So maybe a less ancient implementation wouldn't need to use pthreads.
