Hi again!
One of the things I'm considering for sox_ng
minor release is to reinstate the -1 -2 -s -u etc flags
https://codeberg.org/sox_ng/sox_ng/issues/210
removed in 14.4.1 and wondered what people think.

In brief, it makes old scripts work out of the box
and means less typing in command-line work,
emitting a warning whenever they're used and with
all the ls-like options documented in a single paragraph
with warnings about not using them in scripts as
everyone has 14.4.2 or 42b355 which don't support them.

Fortunately, unlike the -b -w -l -d options
that preceded them (!), none of them have been repurposed
(and reusing old flags with a new meaning is iffy anyway)
and SoX is at a stage of maturity that it seems unlikely
that it will need a lot of new one-letter command-line
options.

Opinions?

    M
