the export simply exports uv coords. the image name associated with the
face is searched for in the soya path and if so used as the soya
material. ( http://home.gna.org/soya/doc/cvs/node16.html )

you can use a  "texture baker" to build one uv texture from a blender material.
i was looking at some a while ago so i know they exist
:)

blender materials and soya dont really work .. or more to the
point, game engines and blender materials dont really work :)
most people just use one uv texture i guess. perhaps if you have more
details on what your trying to do...
