Sure I am ready to do some test if it can help. For information I'm on Debian testing on powerPC with an ATI Radeon Mobility 9200. I wasn't sure soya would work on ppc so I made some test with version 0.10.5 and the tutorials worked perfectly. At this time I didn't have any probleme with graphic acceleration. It's only since I installed soya 0.11.2. I think you are right, it must be a linking problem but I don't know what I can do to verify it.
