Then bug the maintainers of the distro you are using. Moreover, rc means
*release candidate* - that is by definition a beta release and as such is rarely
packaged as opposed to the stable versions. Most people do not really need
bleeding edge software and supporting this by adding various kludges to get the
dependencies right on different distros is a waste of time and effort, IMHO.

If you can build the software yourselves, you should be able to get the
dependencies correct as well.
