K"Tael thought he knew of the
"trampy girl" being described by Piggy. He wondered what
specifically the operation included. "You are right. I am very
interested in the recordings. They would be the first physical evidence
we have in the case. The rest of what we have is primarily testimony
from others involved."
"Then my part is done. I get my
warrents revoked..." the Pig answered.
"Uglara, that is not the deal. You are to
cooperate with the Commnader, then your legal troubles get dealt
with. He will decide when you are done, and if I am any judge of
character I do believe that he wants you to gather more recordings.
His case has a very high profile- aka is being watched by several Admirals
at SF Command. He wants to make sure that the delays are well worth
it." Tom replied. He knew that he was right. He also knew
that the Commander would have to pay big for this kind of help. One
day Tom would have to collect on all of the help he had given to K'Tael,
but today was not that day... K'Tael had said nothing about
during the discussion between Uglara and Tom. It was not his place,
even though it greatly affected his ability to get information he needed.
The sad thing is that he trusted Uglara more than he did Tom.
He would really hate to lose her.
"Ms. Uglara, I will see what I
can do about our agreement. I do not think that you have given me
enough information to clear all the charges, but I will try. I would
like you to continued to be involved in this matter if it is at all
possible. You are proving to be a valuable resource for me and my
staff. I can promise you that if you help us crack this case open,
you will be in the clear."
"That is what I like to hear Commander. A
willingness to serve.... Although it is making me very nervous to be
helping Starfleet, the effect on my reputation and all, the possibility of
some of my charages being ereased is definately worth some risk. I will
continue for now, Commander." she replied.
"See... I told you he would be willing to work with you. All it
takes is patience and an open mind. This Starfleet Commander is not like
the others we have dealt with. Tis one can think outside of
regulations on occassion." Tom replied.
