(ooc: touche)

Lorin woke quietly late into the night-it wasn't a startling awakening but
a calm, relaxed one, but urgent...nature's curse for drinking too much
wine. He looked at his wife who was soundly sleeping and smiled. Kissing
her lightly, he quietly eased himself out of bed and padded into the
bathroom where he closed the door and turned the light on.

As he relieved himself he looked in the mirror and in his own reflection,
he saw the same man from a wedding a long time ago, but who still had a
youthful innocence about him. He thought about his life and what had
happened and came up with 2 definite affirmations of his being--1) He was
right where he needed to be in his life, and 2) He was with exactly who he
needed to be with. They had a beautiful daughter who was truly blooming
into a wonderful combination of them both, but with a truly unique
personality and he was so proud of her, getting ready for her first journey
as a CEO. He quietly prayed nothing would happen to her and then banished
the thought from his mind.

As he padded out of the bathroom, he noticed the replicator and quietly
approached it and whispered, "Computer-1 long stem red rose, no thorns please."

He picked up the rose and smelled it, the smell of many years ago in a bar
returned to him and he wondered if she was dreaming the same thing...they
were linked in ways he couldn't previously imagine but it was so true. He
took a piece of paper and tried to recreate the note from that
night...drawing upon his memory he approximated it as best he could, laid
the pencil down and padded back into the bedroom, laying the note and rose
on her nightstand. It would be the first thing she'd see when she woke and
reached over to tag the alarm clock. He then returned to his side of the
bed and slid in, pulling up the covers and went back to sleep.
