The door bell rang, and the door opened.
"Ms. Firehawk, it is good to see you. I thought that you may have
forgotten our little trip. Let's get going while the blues are still
biting. Shall we?" Lasiter said in greeting, obviously feeling better.
Audra had changed into what she had hoped would be appropriate attire
for fishing. She figured casual would be the thing and had slipped into a
pair of jeans, a white T-shirt, and a denim shirt.
"To be honest, sir, I had. I am ready when you are," she replied
lifting the equipment that the computer had suggested she bring. "You appear
to be feeling much better, sir."
"Thank you, Ms Firehawk. I am feeling much better." Lasiter said walking
out of the door, leading her to the boat that they were to use on their
fishing trip. " Resting here with my sister and her family has done me some
good. However, you are too kind. I called M'Rrenn last night and told him
that I wanted to see you today. This fishing trip was my idea, I hope you do
not mind. I fear that I have been ignoring you, and that is something thta I
do feel terribly about. It wsa always my intention that
in addition to having Admiral Renaud brevit you to LCMR that I would also
mentor you in the ways of being a good officer. It is to your credit that
you have done so well, despite my efforts." he said ending with a slight
joke. "I did not just want to see you today, but I wanted to pick your
brain. You are a valuable commodity to me. You are very intelligent,
honest, and have not been corrupted by bad habbits yet."
Audra fought down the heat in her cheeks. She aprreciated Admiral Laister's
comments. "I am pleased that you like my work, sir. I just go to work each
day with the hope that I get things done to the best of my abilities. As for
your being busy lately... Well, sir, considering recent events, I can more
than understand your not having much time to interact with a junior officer
such as myself."

"What was it that you wanted to talk to me about, sir?"
