Carrhae uttered a Rihannsu curse that, had anyone been present, would have
seared her eardrums.
Something was going to have to give soon. If reporters were watching that
closely, someone was going to learn...
She turned off the display and finished the report she had been preparing
for the last hour. She had opted to work in her quarters since they were
the one place she could do so in peace.
Her combadge sounded. "Admiral t'Llhweiir, Admiral Lasiter has scheduled
a press conference for 1100 hours and has requested your attendance," said
her assistant, Y'Toi, to Carrhae's acknowledgement.
"I presume it is in response to this morning's news story."
"It would seem so." Y'Toi gave Carrhae the location and other specifics.
"Tell M'Rrenn that I will be there. If possible, I would like to meet
with Admiral Lasiter a few minutes beforehand to discuss what we will and
will not answer."
"Yes, Ma'am. Anything else?"
"No. t'Llhweiir out."
Y'Toi contacted M'Rrenn and relayed t'Llhweiir's response.
