Lt. Rodgers finally got relieved. It was time for him to be rotated out of the police
action. Actually, the Marines recalled him from infantry duty to return to his
artillery unit.

Well that was the official story. In fact Lt. Rodgers was actually Commander Roeder,
a former Judge Avocate Officer, who was relieved and sent to work with Rear Admiral
Markus Garibaldi in the hopes it would cure him of his 'political and scheming' ways.
At least that was the hope. Gariabldi actually started to use him in the only way
that he operated.

He was finally coming home to Spacedock after a long tempory assignment to a police
action. An assignment to determine what was wrong there. Commander Roeder was coming
home with two earned putple harts, and more front line combat than most actual
Starfleet Marines do. To boot, he has the skinny on why one of the Police Actions has
gone awry.

He arrived just as he left. Without any ceremony, without any notice except with a
log entry indicating that he had returned to the station.

Once he arrived and reported to his boss, Admiral Garibaldi. They talked about the
many things that had been going on since Roeder left, and what was going on at the
Police Action.

After a while....

They were up in Lasiter's office.

"Admiral, Commander Roeder has returned, and does he have a report to give. I
have been telling him about what has been going on here, and he has some interesting
thoughts on the matter." Garibaldi started once the pleasantries were over.

"Well let's here your report then your ideas about the rest." Lasiter replied.

"Sir, with respect, I think you have your priorities wrong. If you are worried
about the report on the police actions first, then you are going about things in
reverse. Again, with respect, if you want to make change you have to earn respect
within the fleet. You have to earn their respect and to become known to them. We
have to take care of your image. Once we give you a better image, the changes will be
easier to implement. I am not talking about a popularity contest, sir. Starlfeet
does not have to like you, but they need to know you and respect you." Roeder
responded ever so dilicately.

Lasiter just stared at the man.

Garibaldi broke the silence that seemed to linger, "Admiral...."

"Commander, you have an interesting way about you. I have not determined if this
is a good thing or not. So, in the meantime let's hear your suggestions Commander."
Lasiter replied after another short silence.

    Tbc.....
