Renaud closed the channel and looked at both of them as he brought out his PADD, "Ok...we have several questions to answer tomorrow morning...we don't answer them we might as well go to the brig voluntarily." He looked at them, "I'll list them out."
"#1-What did the communicator logs say about Dr. Brennan's location during the first attack and at the time when the security detail was killed at the onset of the first attack?"
#2Were they any witnesses available who can confirm that Dr. Brennan was actually in those locations along with his commbadge? Can you get sworn statements to the effect, if there were witnesses?
3) Has a Romulan angle been looked at? Keeping in mind that Admiral t'Llhweiir defected from the Romulan fleet to join Starfleet, and there may still be some animosity.
4) What happened during the time that Brennan went into the holodeck, locking everyone else out, and the time that security and medical staff were able to get into the holodeck to treat Admiral t'Llhweiir? Can all of the time be accounted for?
5) How was security measures breached?"
"How do we divide these up? K'Tael you have people in Intel you've been talking to-correct?"
K'Tael was impressed by the series of questions that Renaud had brought. "Accessing the communicator logs should not be at all difficult. We could get Lt Arsineau from Communications to forward that information to us. I would suggest that we get permission from Dr. Brennan to do so, sir. There is no question in my mind that he is not a suspect, and it would help us curb any personal rights questions. Once that is done, we can have a report from Arsineau in minutes."
"IDin witnesses can be obtained once we have the comm reports. Using station security cameras, we possibly have some digital evidence of Brennan's location and possible ID some witnesses to talk with. Once that is done, we can send in some security personnel to talk with them and take statements. Considering the time of day, there might not be that many."
"I must admit that until we got footage of the assailant, we had not considered a Romulan slant on the case. Admiral T'Llthweir was the only Romulan involved at the time. The second 'attack' on the Romulan Ambassador was nothing of the sort. Considering the Admiral's past, that could be a motive, though. I would suggest someone, preferrably of higher rank, talk with the Romulan Ambassador about her estimation of current views of the Admiral in the Romulan Star Empire."
"As for what occurred in the Holodeck, that is going to be hard to do. The security cameras were taken off-line and interviews with the Admiral and Dr. Brennan indicate that even they could see little do to a fog-like environment. Dr. Brennan could only suggest that the assailant was a Vulcanoid woman. We basically only have their word. The good thing is the victim supports the statements by the doctor."
"I am not sure how the Holodeck was locked up. That would have to be something that would be concluded by someone with more speciality in that area. I would suggest that a tech or computer speculist be brought in to take a look at that. Offhand, I would say that it would not be all that hard, once the person was able to gain access to the Security net. If they were able to do that, they could access the Security Lock Down procedures to accomplish that. There my be other means, though. This is not something that can necessarily be answered in a day."
"Security measures are not impossible to breach, sir. It is very difficult, but if someone has the drive and money or skills necessary, it can be done. I would put emphasis on the first of those. Motivation can push people to do things that we never thought could ever be possible."
"As for talking with Intell, my assistant has been on Mars talking with an Intell rep to confirm information we have."
"Have we confirmed any identity of the female Vulcanoid attacker? Is she
indeed Romulan?"
"Accodring to Lt. Holt, Intell has confiremed that the Vulcanoid attacked is a Romulan assassin that they know of. I would say that they know her well, but that is not the case. She has been involved in a number of their Ops, but they have not been able to put together a solid profile on her. Intell has refused requests to share classified information on her other than that."

"Considering the ability of this woman in eluding Intell, I don't think she would have had much of a problem breaching our security and attacking the Admiral. In fact, to some degree, we are lucky that she missed her mark.
