"Yes, I was wondering if I could speak with the Ambassador. We have a
problem that I think she might be able to assist us with."

"I'm afraid the ambassador is in a high level briefing at the moment and
left strict orders not to be disturbed. Perhaps I may be of some
assistance?"

Audra was surprised to be put off by the staff member, but realized it was
the only way to get her job done. "Dr. Brennan seems to have disappeared.
We were wondering if the Ambassador might know where he is, considering
their familial connections."

The chief of staff's expression did not change. "Dr. Brennan is well known
for his... independence." She, herself, had served on Triangle back when
Dr. Brennan had its CMO. "When one says, 'disappeared', does one mean
simply that his whereabouts are not currently known? This would, after all,
be a common occurence with Dr. Brennan."

<Am I talking to a Romulan or a Vulcan,> asked the Operations Manager of
herself. "I would have to say that pretty much summarizes the situation.
While that may be common for Dr. Brennan, it goes against a station policy
that was just recently instituted and to which he agreed."

The chief of staff arched an eyebrow and her lips quirked into what may have
been
an amused smile, had it been wider. "And your point is....?" she asked
simply. "How well do you know Dr. Brennan?" she asked.

Realizing that she might not have spoken as she should, Audra took a moment
to compose herself before responding. "I must admit that I do not know him
that well, but I must tell you that I do know that he would go to his
sister-in-law first if he needed to get something done outside of normal
Starfleet channels. Considering the manner of his disappearance, it is clear
that the Ambassador could be a great deal of assistance in helping us in this
matter."
