She closed her eyes and focused on activating the implant in her brain
that controlled the ring on her finger. It was not easy to get control of
the Tal Shiar issue implant, which Carrhae suspected was not completely
compatible with her 1/4 human physiology.

After running through a quick diagnostic, she opened her eyes. She had to
blink several times to adjust to the enhanced visuals and could not help a
brief grimace at the headache that got worse from the implant's use.
Concentrating, she scanned the area.
