> He frowned. "I was afraid of that. I hate not having the element of
surprise."
> He thought about it a moment longer. "Maybe, though, if we just walked in
the
> front door, except maybe we make it look like there's only one of us."

Nabru thought a moment, then she smiled. She glanced about the
upstairs portion of the rowdy bar and saw a room that did not have an
"occupied" light above its portal. "Join me," she offered.

"Of course," he told her, following her up and inside.

Once inside, reality seemed to unfocus for a moment. When it shifted
back, Nabru was gone. A bark behind him drew Brennan's attention to a
large Saint Bernard lying placidly on the floor.

"Perfect," he told her. "Shall we?"

He opened the door and led her out, ignoring the raised eyebrows of a few
who thought that perhaps time in the booth would have better spent on an
animal a bit more... sentient. Matt simplly smiled and moved along, the "St
Bernard" in tow. "No sense wasting time," he muttered," hoping they weren't
too late already. Moments later they were before the Tri-Cat.

The doors were shut, but not locked. The sign on the door said it was still open.
There was the customary bouncer type at the door, but nothing the the Doc could not
handle.
