In K'Tael's office a meeting of the minds was in progress. K'Tael, Dais, and Joe Garibaldi were all talking strategy about the most recent progress, or lack there of.....
"I really think that we need to talk to Allso. Without his handlers if possible. However, so far that has proved to be impossible. If we could just get him alone for a moment I know he will talk. The last time we saw him in one of our legal wrangling meetings, he looked as if he were sick, about to pass out. He knows something, and is under some real pressure from his people to keep it to himself." Joe was saying..... Dais nodded. "I believe you are right. He is definitley the weak link in the chain. I think he is worried that he is going to end up taking the fall for somehting that he really had no knowledge of." "Well, we can't officially bring him in for questioning because of his immunity, but you could hit him up at one of his hangouts. He can't be locked up in the consulate all the time. He must have to go to restaurants, bars, and other places on the station. If he is as uncomfortable as you think, I am sure that it would not take much to convince him to talk." "But having him talk to us is worthless unless he will testify, and I doubt that his keepers will allow that. We need to get rid of the immunity....." Joe answered... Dais glanced toward Joe. "I know that I am not really in my element here, but is there any way to remove immunity from a diplomat?" K'Tael had to admit that he was intrigued by the comment as well. He did not know of any reason that it could be overridden without the assistance of the home government. That was the reason they were working with the Bajorans in the first place. "Is it possible for Allso to simply waive his immunity? We could impress upon him how likely it will be that he will be taking the fall for this in the long run. He might be willing to testify." "The immunity is technically not his, but his governments. The ambassador can remove immunity, as can his home government. Since the ambassador is not likely to do that, we would need to go to the home government. Anyone here know of anyone with high level contacts within the Bajoran Government? Perhaps someone at SF Command?" K'Tael studied Joe. There was only one officer in SF Command that K'Tael could think of that had a "special" relationship with the Bajorans. He was not sure that Joe knew about the suspicions surrounding his uncle(?). "What about Admiral Garibaldi?" (response) }}}=) Lisa
