When Allisandrin had left, K'Tael's receptionist buzzed him to inform him that Commander Dais was waiting to speak with him. K'Tael told the young officer to send the station's XO in.

Dais made his way into K'Tael's office. "I have just finished speaking with Mr. Garibaldi. It appears that we may have come up with a solution to the problem of the missing had."

"Joe suggested that we pop a surprise health inspection on our friend, Mr. Rivik. Apparently, he has plans to depart sometime this evening. We believe there is a good chance that he will have the hand aboard his ship. We think the inspection will either provide us with the had, which is a health hazard, or will fluster him enough that he might slip up and provide us with some much needed information."
