> A pair of Klingons came down the hall from the bridge to support their
>leader. They made the odds more even, three on three. The test of combativ
>skill lasted some 4 minutes, where all concerned were cut up pretty good, but
>in the end the white hats came out on top. The one Kitanya was engaged with
>was on the floor dead and bleeding. The others were suffering from serious
>wounds, and would soon see the truth to the stories of an afterlife. One
>Klingon was standing, but the other needed some medical attention.
<[Gothan,]> she said to the injure Klingon, <[Get to Medlab and get
yourself fixed up. Come back to us after you're taken care of.]>
<[I can fight!]> he proclaimed proudly.
Kit shot a sideways glare at him. <[That's an order!]> she barked in
Klingon. <[You will fight better if you aren't bleeding all over the deck
like a stuck targ. Now move!]>
Gothan obeyed, his training telling him she was right. Besides, he wasn't
out of the fight permanently, just until he could get fixed up. And he'd
make damn sure that human doctor understood the need for haste. He left
and Kit gave out orders to put the wounded prisoners into a seperate cell
and called for a medic to attend to them and any other wounded. The dead
one she left lying in the corridor for his friends in the cell to look at;
give them something to think about.
> Elsewhere, the fighting raged on. The rest of the fighting for the brig
>was at a stale mate, but the raiders could not hold out for much longer. The
>crew of the Hathor along with the SpecOps folk were just too much for them.
>Too numerousas well.
>
> Engineering was another matter. The raiders had a toe hold in
>engineering, and was about to play a trump card. They threw in, as far as
>they could, explosives. The packages that came flying in were the size of
>nice sized pocket book, but far deadlier. Two came flying in. One landed
>behind a console and blew the crap out of it, but did little other damage.
>The second was far more deadly. It landed near the dilithium crystal
assembly
>of the warp reactor. When it blew it weakened the warp core enough to leake
>coolant, and make a core breach a certanty.
>
> In Auxillery Control, where the Captain had just arrived...
>
> "Captain Lasiter, we have a warp core breach in progress. Estimated time
>to breach, 3 minutes."
>
> Lasiter looked around at his command crew stopping at the communications
>officer. "Alex, call us a cab, and be quick about it."
>
> Then hitting a button on the command station, "All hands this is the
>Captain. Abandon Ship, this is no drill....." Then the alarm that no one
>liked to hear went off.
Kit was so furious at these felinids that her heart told her to leave these
blasted prisoners right where they were and let the gods sort them out.
But her head told her that the current brass in the fleet would nail her
for breaking intergalactic treaties regarding prisoners. She hit her com
badge. "Captain, is the trrransporterr still worrrking?" she yelled above
the din. "I don't think you've got enough escape pods forrr yourrr crrrew
and us. Can we beam to anotherrr ship in the convoy?"
(resp?)
"We've got to take these prrrisonerrs, Captain, if at all possible. But
it's yourrr ship, yourrr call." She had no authority on that ship and she
wasn't about to tell him how to evacuate his own ship.
