Lucas shrugged, mystified. "It's impossible to tell at this point. We've never seen a VHB before. I can tell you that a Venasian Bond can't be broken by the Bond-ed. Control of the Bond is exclusively in the hands of the Bond-er. There are safeguards in place, of course, in case the Bond is broken by reason of death, so that neither party suffers permanent trauma in that case."
