>"I can try, but I make no promises. The locals have them. Out of our hands."

"Tell me who to speak with and I can see what can be done."

"I will make a few nonofficial inquiries first, and save the trouble of a
formal request. I should have an answer for you by dinner time." was the
reply.

>"You have been away from the field for a long
>time if you think that
>rations are anything but the vile things that
>they are." the Captain responded in equal jest.

> "Nothing like Mystery meat to help you sleep
> well..." he smiled.

>"If you can swallow."

David purposely half-chuckled, "We'll ask your wife at a later time Captain."
He said it in hopes of a little male-bonding with the Captain...He dropped
down to his haunches and looked around...maybe a personal affect on the
ground...something

The Captain gave David an odd look, but smiled back as he headed off to
make his inqueries.

He could not see too much of interest. However, he did notice something,
not on the ground, but in a back corner of the village. A small group of
villagers got together ever so briefly. Fram what he could see, some 100
meters or so away, was that they were talking about something of importance.
Then suddenly, they all turned and disappeared, heading out of the village
away from the main drag. They were heading into the forrest that was beyond
the village on the opposite side. Something just did not look right, and
David was all by himself.
