      Lasiter nooded his head a few times, but only slightly as if to signal
that he heard what was said.  

     "Denied, Admiral.  I will take these next three days to consider what
course of action I will take.  In the meantime, you will attend to your
meeting with the Federation Council, and leave the Ambassador to me.
      You are a man of honor and integrity.  I respect that.  That is why I am
not making a decision while I am still angry.  Just do your job."
