He picked up his things and headed for the meeting room that Lt
Thompson had set up for group. It seemed that the Council would have its first test.
He took a seat and called Lt. Thompson to request his presence in the chambers
immediately and waited for the diplomats to arrive.

He was not waiting long before a woman entered, an Andorian woman. She was wearing
the cloths of a diplomat, a Starfleet diplomat.

"Good day, Ambassador Golan. I am Commander Na'Tral of the Starfleet Diplomatic
Corps. I am here at the request of the Andorian Ambassador to the Federation. May I
sit in on your council's meeting?"

"You would be welcome to do so," replied Golan. "It is nice to see Starfleet taking
an interest in the Council. While many of the Federation's member worlds have
representatives, we do not have an official Federation representative that I know of."

"I would be that representative, Ambassador. Thank you for your invitation."

(response)

"It is not good, T'Kresh. I am not sure if Aqualish intelligence has received word
yet, but it appears that there is something going on concerning the Venasians. Many
of their Ambassadors have been abducted. The representative on Cardassia Prime has
appealed for and received political assylum."

T'Kresh did not like what she was hearing. First off, the Venasians weren't exactly
close to the Cardassians. "Has there been any word of the reasons for the abductions?"

"There is nothing definite. I have just received word from Cardassia Prime that we
have started moving ships toward our borders. The homeworld seems to think that this
is a Venasian internal matter."

T'Kresh let out a sigh. "I am looking forward to hearing what the Council has to say
about this."

"As am I," Ael t'Khllrenz said as she entered the room. "A change in leadership in
the Venasian empire is not unexpected, given their ecosystem turmoil as of late," she
said. "Still, the suddeness of this coup seems odd."

"I see dangerous repercussions to it. I have a feeling this may lead to some sort of
civil war," stated Golan simply.

"Let us hope it does not come to that." the Fleeter said. "Starfleet does not wish to
become involed in a shooting war between two factions of Venasians, but we fear that
it may be unavoidable.", Na'Tral added.

Just then, a Klingon woman stepped into the Conference Room. (OOC: Think of the
Klingon woman who obtained the Genesis plans in STII: TSFS with the attitude of Lursa)
"Starfleet has always been a little too cautious when it comes to battle."

(reactions?)

The Klingon woman made her way over to the small group of Ambassadors. "I am
Ambassador Valtris, newly assigned to represent the Klingon Empire." She paused for a
moment to let the statement settled before turning to Na'Tral.

"The Federation is openly courting the Venasians for friendship, yet, you do not help
defend them from traitors in their own governemnt."
