David stood in disbelief-first he was going to die in an enemy camp, now he was going to die in a friendly camp....he just laid on the cot and let his mind drift...
Morning came, and the food was delivered through a replicator built into the wall that the guards controlled. David's eggs were arranged into a Starfleet symbol; guards had a strange sense of humor.

The doorway dissolved into transparency later that morning and he could see and hear everything outside once more. It was the normal routine of the cell block, although later that day he could hear a fight breaking out in a cell that a guard had gone into, and other guards came running. He could see fighting, and then heard a scream as they literally dragged the now-shackled prisoner out and down the hallway. Everything returned to normal after that, but the prisoner did not return and the cell was cleaned out by another prisoner in a striped uniform, and the lights shut off. Apprantly, he wasn't coming back.

That evening, several guards approached his doorway. "All right, 'Captain', it's time you went and answered some questions. We can do this two ways, one of which will be a lot easier on you than the other. Are you going to play nice?"

The guard deactivated the stasis field as the others readied themselves behind him just in case. It was a different guard from the night before; the midnight shift must not have come on duty yet. He wasn't as large, but he had a pair of handcuffs in his hands that he could use immediately as a weapon, and then there was the backup...
