When the blindfold was removed from Celana's eyes, she saw she had been placed in a small cell with nothing in it. It was drab, grey, and gave absolutely no clue where she was. Behind her, she heard a door shut, and she turned to see a door, with no window or even a place to shuttle food. Light was provided by the luminescent walls. Breathable air came in through a ventiliation duct far to high for her to reach, and the bars were guarded by a very visible forcefield anyway. The only thing Celana could tell was that she was on a ship. The bulkheads were of standard material used in Venasian vessels, and the floor was vibrating ever so slightly, an effect of warp speed which could not be masked. She noticed they had not provided anti-gravity; probably for security purposes, and possibly for torture purposes. When enough time had passed, Celana's body would start feeling the effects of gravity, and it would become excruciating.
She sat down on the cold floor, and touched the small pouch she always had strapped to her upper arm. In it were contained two vials of Selara's drug: approximately one month's worth. If she stretched it out, she might be able to survive two, though she would be a wreck by that time. She had been trained to use meditation to slow her metabolism, but this was the first time in her life Celana had been cut off from the telepathic communal River. The silence was disconcerting, and she had a hard time concentrating.
After some time - she couldn't tell how long - the door opened. In came two military personell. They lifted her forcibly on her feet, blindfolded her, and began to walk her outside. She went meekly, but asked, "Where are we going?"
"To be interrogated," came the short reply.
Celana didn't ask any more, but instead started counting. Fifteen step, a right turn, thirty steps to another right turn... She hoped someone would come for her soon...
