Lasiter had left with the others, leaving both Carrhae and Matthew alone for
a moment.
"So, Healer how do you think things went?" she said, emotionally neutral
in voice, but still hesitant about leaving SPD in the middle of the current
situation with the CinC.
"Better than I would have expected," he told her, "not as well as I would have
liked." He frowned in thought. "The connection's gone dead. I have to worry that
that means bad things for Celana. Hopefully it *doesn't* mean bad things for
Samuel." He looked to her. "I worry about you going to Pacifica," he said. "I
wish I could go with you."
