>He didn't know where Stark stood-whether he was with Van Der Loo or not,
>"I'm not sure what you mean...your team will get commendations-all of
>you...I'd be dead if it wasn't for your people."

>"Captain, I don't care about medals, but I am sure that a personal word from
>Starfleet Command or yourself to the families of the dead would be
>appreciated. However, that is not what I had asked you. I asked what you
>were going to tell Lasiter about this police action. You were sent here to
>observe us due to some reports of misconduct. What have you observed, or at
>least what do you think you have observed?" The Colonel was not threatening
>in any way, but he was not backing down either. He was asking a pointed
>question, and wanted a direct answer. David's caution was warranted, as was
>his question about Stark's loyalities- truth or to Van Der Loo. But...

"Colonel-I saw no misconduct by your troops. Your troops peformed as best as could be
expected under difficult circumstances. That is what I am going to tell the Admiral.
If I can have the names and contacts of the missing or deceased officers I will
personally arrange contact to their families."

(response)

"As to what else I saw..." David put his head in his hands and pushed away the dark
images that threatened to overtake him-he took a deep breath and looked up at
Stark-David was a bit pale but regained his composure quickly, "I suppose it's time I
ask you an important question-what you tell me is between us but will help me a great
deal. What do YOU think of your police action you are involved in? Aside from the
rebels themselves-what do you think of the orders you have been given?"
