> >"What do you need from me to get where we need to be?" Lasiter asked.

"Time, sirrr, but I know it may not be yourrrs to give. We could also use
some ships; the ones we had werrre 'apprrroprriated' by otherrr commands,
so now we have to rrrely on those commands to give us trrransporrt. We
don't need many, but we do need them. Also, Admirrral t'Llwheiirrr and I
talked about trrransferring back those Spec Ops operrratives who had gone
to Intell to escape what was happening within the deparrrtment. If she
can
sparrre them, I could rrreally use them back," she said, looking hopefully
at the admiral on the screen.

>"I will see just what I can do for you. Let's break for now, and get a
few things started. I want to meet in a few days with SF Security and
operations. Commander M'Rrenn will brief them today, and we will all get
together. I want to have soemthing to present to President Montgomery by
then. Thank you." Lasiter said closing the meeting.

>"Admiral Kitanya, I need you alone for a moment."

She turned to Aurelius. "Go take care of getting that team togetherrr,"
she said. "Also, have Narrraht set up a seniorrr staff meeting forrr
tomorrow morrrning."

"Yes, sir." Captain Aurellius answered, then took his leave.

She waited until he left. "What can I do forrr you
sirrr?"

"About these fifedoms... can you make contact with that splinter organization again?
I have been in contact with all of those that came to the pow-wow that we organized.
Trying to show them, prove to them that we are working toward some progress. Trying
to support their own efforts of taking responsibility for their commands and doing a
house cleaning of their own. I want to know what effect it has had, and what they are
looking for in the next step. I have a few things that I can do from this end, and I
want to pick the ones that will get the most impact on their group. Then, perhaps we
can really put this damned fifedom crap to bed. There is *one* chain of command, and
it can not allow for splinter groups or open dissention within the ranks. Besides, if
we are going to survive the threats that are coming, we have to unite. I would like
to have time to heal after the shake up that is coming. I fear that it will be
painful to some." For the first time Kitanya could see the drive in the man. She
could sense just how much was wanted to pounce, but was holding back. Waiting for
just the right moment. The vibe he was giving off was that lots of things would be
changing, lots of officers and enlisted were being set up to fall for their actions
(ciminal actions), or inactions as it may be.
