K'Tael tapped his console to bring up the recordings that had been
downloaded from the bugs.
They had hit the gold mine. Uglara had placed recording devices ever so
carefully around the ship. There was nothing that was missed. In fact she
had her a select few members of her crew in on the act. Trying to weasle
information. From trying to estabilish how often they had meet, to where
and when. She was definately worth every bit of heat K'Tael would get when
he cut her lose from those charges and fines that were aprt of her deal.
In the meeting things got heavy.
Rivik: We have to be even more careful. A few of our friends have become
liabilities, and have been dealt with. (he opens the box with the hand) I
can not stress just how much loyality means to us. With loyality comes
trust, and with trust comes a share in the wealth and power that we will
have. When O'Neill decided that he was going to betray our loyality over
some long forgotten wench of a girl, he sealed his own fate. Instead of
coming to us, he was going to spill to Starfleet. This is what happened to
him."
Others in the room could be seen, and their shock was evident. This was
having a serious effect on those people.
Rivik: (after a pause to let the effect sink in) We are well connected, and
can help you out of any trouble you get into. *Provided* that you are
smart, careful, and have earned our trust. Don't let this fate happen to
you. You see O'Neills hand, but his head was sent to Starfleet as a warning
to back off. His body was sent to his crew to make sure that they did not
break with us or forget about their loyality to the organization.
Now, with a renewed sense of duty and obligation, what do you have to
tell me.
Thug1: Arms shipments to the police actions are on schedule, although we
have had a large increase in price. It has become a bit harder to rn the
blocades and patrols. We need some relief.
Rivik: I think that our friend Zorin will be able to help out there. What
else?
Thug2: The sabotage teams are working well, now that they are fully
intrigated into the rebel factions. It took time to get them fully
integrated, but they are now running as planed.
Rivik: They are only in two of the police actions, can we move on to the
others?
Thug2: I will need more time. Training these people is not easy, and
getting them into the inner circle of the rebel factions is even harder. We
have to get them in the rebel factions to prove their worth and to earn
their way to a leadership role. During that process they stir up the
resentment, fanning the flames of dissent if you will. They have
counterparts in the government who help play off each other, planning raids
and the like........
Joe comments to K'Tael, "Looks like these buggers are part of the problem in
the police actions. Stirring up trouble. They are drounding out the peace
makers, only making things worse. This is truely good information."
K'Tael nodded. "I must admit that there is more here than I had expected."
They go back to the recordings...
Rivik: Will they be ready to and able to calm things down once we are in
position to control the planet? That is key to our plan to disstabilize the
Federation enough for us to take over.
THug2: They should be. However, they will need more time for that. Say 6
to 9 months at least. The other police actions will take longer.
Rivik: Keep me informed. These police actions are the best thing to happen
to us.
Uglara: You started them. The police actions....
Rivik: Not all of them. Some were going to happen whether or not we became
involved. We just sped things up a bit. Others we just positioned
ourselves at the right place at the right time.
Thug1: What make great people great from the rest of the average folk is
taking full advantage of every opertunity. What makes the top 1% of the
great people is not only making the most out of every oppertunity, but by
creating oppertunity where none existed.
Laughter ensues the room..
Moments later, Starfleet arrives...
"I believe that we have enough to bring our friends in Sickbay in. How long
do you think it will take for JAG to issue us some arrest warrents?"
"Not too terribly long, I guess. Couple of hours. I will have to
explain quite a bit. However, I think that, considering just who we are
about to throw in the clink, that we shoudl tell the brass. Admirals
Lasiter and Renaud will be interested in knowing this."
