Serana appeared on the monitor, whole and healthy. Clearly this had been taken some
time ago. "Hello," she said calmly, "I apologize that I'm not sure who is getting this
message; the box is only encoded for certain members of Starfleet brass. If one of
you is watching this now, it means that something has happened to me, the Venasian
people, or both. I also
apologize if Lucas is overly dramatic; he's still pretty young.

"In answer to your question, yes, there is a network of people within the Venasian
government, watching and gathering information, but no, I'm not the head of it. I'm
only a link."

"A military takeover has been in the works for some time. We're not trying to stop
it; we're only here to watch out for the safety of the innocent civilians who get
caught in the middle. I can give you some information, which I trust will be used in
accordance with our goal. If the information is misused, there will be, as Admiral
Garibaldi would say, 'hell to pay.'"

She shifted slightly. "I've attached three files to this crystal. One are visual
images of the new Venasan ships. We don't have the technical blueprints or schematics,
but maybe you'll be able to discern something from the pictures. The second is a list
of safehouses which have been set up
for civilian refugees. All of them are outfitted with food and medical supplies for
casualties, but they are not military installations. Some of them are little more than
caves with some rolls of medical tape. They'll provide safe haven for anyone,
regardless of race. They'll be watched, so if you
start using them for military or covert operations, it'll be exposed. And the third
contains bios on General A'amon and his closest advisors and aides, their political
affiliations, their family alliances, and their training. This is fairly common
knowledge to the Venasians, but it may be locked up after the takeover."

"I will say one more thing, but this is my own personal opinion. The Venasian people
as a whole are not going to take a military takeover lying down. Venasians are a
pacifist race; the few militant families like the A'amons are held very tightly in
check by the Council. Venasians also hold very rigidly to their traditions, one of
which is the Council. If there isn't a lot of outcry, you can be almost certain that
they're being
coerced or forced not to. I hope this information is helpful to you; good luck."

Her image blinked out, leaving the three files accessible on the crystal.

'That was interesting.' Lasiter thought to himself after listening to the recording
twice. There was hope that the Venasians were not just taking this lying down. His
thoughts on the matter were confirmed, that the Venasian people were now oppressed,
and that the government was about to cause trouble.

He decided to open the file on General A'amon and his cohorts.
