> They arrived at security central no worse for wear, but the mob had grown.
Grown, and they were hungry for a statement from Spacedock's Chief of
Security.
K'Tael left the prisoners to be taken into security with those under his
command. He was going to give them a statement, but it was probably not
going to leave them very happy.
"Folks, I am sorry that I cannot provide you with much information at this
time. As you can see we have a number of people to process. If you could
please contact the station's information officer, he will be able to brief
you on what has occurred. You will have to give him some time to be brought
up on what has occurred."
With that the Klingon officer turned to walk into security with trails of
shouting reporters asking him questions they knew he was not about to
answer. He almost let out a sigh of relief when the doors closed behind
him.

K'Tael sat down at his desk and opened a line to Joe Garibaldi's office. He
was finished with one grueling investigation, and he had a feeling that
another was going to start up.
"K'Tael to Garibaldi."
"Garibaldi here."
"Joe, I am all finished up here with our Bajoran friends, I can get together
with you whenever you are ready."
"I am actually finishing up a report or two on the investigation and
subsequent arrest, at least my involvement in it. That should take me
another 20 minutes or so. Go ahead and start without me. I will be done as
soon as I am done." was the reply.

First things being first, was the general background of Van Der Loo.
Standard stuff here. Academy grad or average ranking. Service record cold
be described ad being in the higher end of average. His average career
continued from starship to starship, starbast to starbase. Untill when he
was a commander stationed on Bajor as a diplomatic liason officer. he
worked with, and made lots of contacts with, the power brokers of Bajor.
The same power brokers that now had at their command vast influence and
respect in the Federation Council. Van Der Loo all of a sudden shot up the
ranks and enjoyed a greater share of the spot light. it was at this
point in his career that his true colors appeared. He was an opertunist.
Further digging into his psycological profile, obtained through one of
K'tael's many "sources" indicated that he was a constant schemer that was
over confident to the extreme. Of particualr interest was an underlying
thrust for power and control. Not exactly overt power, but rather the
behind the scenes maneuvering, dealing kind of power. The quiet power that
only a skilled, pathological power feind would crave.
It was about this time that Joe Garibaldi entered K'Tael's office.
"Good lord, you see the press lately. They must smell some fresh meat out
there.", he commented looking a bit harried.
