ooc: this looks like it never got out--i was having problems with email
yesterday. resending)
>>"Now, why would I want you to do that, Carrhae? I depend on you,
>Kitanya,
>>Garibaldi, and M'Rrenn to me keep this fleet floating. Your confidence

>>Answer me this... are you trying to leave Intell or leave Starfleet?"

>>Lasiter was somewhat shaken by this, but he knew that he needed her. He
>knew

"Carrrrhae," said Kitanya softly, her golden eyes meeting her fellow
admirals'. "This is not the time. Not now, not this way." Although
Kitanya admired Carrhae's honesty, and in her own heart, Kitanya longed to
do the same, to walk away and let others risk their lives for king and
country, this was not the time. Kitanya had made promises, and she would
not break them, not even if it cost her her career or her life. Kitanya
too was devastated at the statement, at the loss of one friend and possibly
another now, and did not know how much more she could take of this insane,
ridiculous game of politics and intrigue. But honor bound her, and she
knew it also bound Carrhae. Kitanya's golden feline eyes pled with her.
"Please," she said softly again, a world of meaning in that one word.
>"I do not want to leave at all, Samuel, Kitanya," t'Llhweiir replied.
>Finally, she let them see the flash of anger in her eyes that she had so
>carefully hidden. It was not just her job, it had become very personal.
>Only Brennan's ability to heal had saved him. She wanted someone to pay
>for the attempt. "I want to find the ones who did this and make them answer
>for their actions."
>
>The anger cooled but did not completely fade away. "What I desire, however,
>can not be reason to be in my job. If you believe I should continue, I will
>trust your assessment and stay."
>
"I do.", Lasiter said relieved that she would stay. He needed her for so many reasons.
"Where's M'Rrenn? He should be here."
