Out of the blue, and for reasons she did not fully know herself, she
said, "May I ask you something before we talk?" Caimlyn was surprised by her request. He just nodded in response. "What is your second name - umm, middle name?" she asked, remembering the Standard word for it. "If you have one, that is." Caimlyn was definitely surprised by the question. "My people do not have middle names. We have just our family and given names, which are connected by a word indicating our sex. Why do you ask?" "Well, among the Russian people, it is our custom to address friends by their first and second names." She let him figure out the implication. A purplish tone colored Caimlyn's cheeks as understanding of Katya's statement hit him. She too was starting to consider him a friend. "I am honored that you would include me among those you would call your friends. Perhaps the word indicating my sex would work for the custom. It is "y" (OOC: pronounced 'eeh')." (Katya?)
