(ooc: a bit of confusion, perhaps, on my part.  wasn't the problem that the
explosion had caused ops to be unable to open space doors?  engineering was the
backup?)
(OOC2:  Sorry all for taking so long to weigh in on this one.  The doors were unable to open due to the fact that in order to work on repairs and control further damage, the station's reactor power was cut.  There was actually no energy to open those babies.  The reactors had to be turned back on in order to do so, or the doors could have been blown, which would have put a nice hole at the top of the station to accompany the one at the bottom.  There was some trouble between the commander and Admiral Renaud because the doors could not be opened due to procedural rules that prevent the doors from being opened during a red alert.  The assumption being that the danger would be coming from outside the station and had to be kept out.  As a result, Shevab lowered the station's status to take it out of Red Alert so the doors could open.  I am not sure which of these situation Pete was referring to, but procedures could be changed to allow for Ops to have control during emergencies, sine they must have control over the doors during regular operations.  Pun not intended.  If anyone is still confused (and I understand if you are), just let me know, and I will try to respond more clearly.)
