Ambassador Ra'aj el T'Kresh sat at her desk in her office. It was nice to be back in the familiar environment, particularly after things had gone so wrong on Pacifica. The Council had not met with General A'amon, which had been there initial goal. They had also not been able to convince the Venasians that it would be in their best interest to appoint a representative to the Diplomatic Council and accept the Council's gift of a new homeworld. That did not even take into account the death of Commander Lasiter on Pacifica in a separate mission.
Just then, the comm unit on her desk chimed.
"Go ahead," was her reply.
"Madam Plantoc," we have received a message from Commander Na'Tral for you."
"Please send it right in," she said just seconds before the message appeared on her console screen. T'Kresh read over the memo with some sadness.

FROM: Commander Na'Tral RE: Change in representation for the UFP CC: Ambassadors Ael, Valtris, Melora, Watson Madame Ambassador, it is my duty to inform you and the rest of the Council that I will no longer be serving as the Representative for the UFP. My superiors felt a full ambassador would better serve our interests. Mr. James Watson will be taking over the role as official Ambassador to the Council for the UFP. This will be effective tomorrow. With your permission, Starfleet formally requests to have a liason officer assigned to see to the needs of the Council while conveening on Spacedock or on any other Starfleet facility. This officer will be reporting directly to the Chair of the Council and to Admiral Lasiter. CDR Na'Tral. T'Kresh decided to compose a memo in return.

FROM: Plantoc Ra'aj el T'Kresh RE: Change in representation for the UFP CC: Ambassadors Ael, Valtris, Melora It is with great sorrow that I receive the news that you will no longer be representing your government at the Council sessions. While you may not be a full Ambassador, you represented your people and the Council expertly during our talks with the Venasian government on Pacifica. I hope the your government and Starfleet understand what a valuable member you are. I am sure that Ambassador Watson will provebut to be a wonderful addition to the Council chambers. I look forward to meeting and working with him in the near future.
If there is anything I can do to assist you in the future, please feel free to contact me. I am always at your service.
T'Kresh
T'Kresh had decided to sign off with her personal name rather than her familial name because she had come to respect the Tellarite and consider her a frient. She would definitely be missed.
T'Kresh decided to write a letter of introduction to Ambassador Watson.

RE: Welcome to the Diplomatic Council While I doubt that I will be the first to congratulate you on your appointment to the Diplomatic Council, I sincerely hope that you find working with us to be pleasant and rewarding. Working on the Council is a challenging duty, but one that I have found to be a wonderful experience as I work with the representatives from the other governments participating in the program. I am sure that you will more than just live up to the responsibilities that come with your new position. It is my understanding that you have a great deal of experience of working and negotiating with other races. You will find that experience will serve you well.
It is my understanding that Starfleet would like to appoint a liaison officer to work with the Council. That person would work directly with myself and with Admiral Lasiter. Please inform your government that such a proposal would be acceptable. I would hope that such a liaison would work with you as well.
I look forward to the time when I can meet with you in person.
Plantoc Ra'ajthe
